ReStor®
The ACRYSOF® ReSTOR® lens is a new (approved by the FDA in 2005) artificial lens that is surgically implanted in the eye to restore vision after a cataract, or clouded natural lens, is removed.
Using technology similar to that used in telescopes and microscopes, insertion of the lens will provide good near, middle and distance vision after cataract surgery and greatly reduces or eliminates reliance upon prescription eye glasses. Prior to the ACRYSOF ReSTOR, life without glasses or bifocals was not an option for cataract surgery patients.

Acrysof Toric
Traditional intraocular lens implants had the ability to succcessfully correct nearsightedness and farsightedness but have been unable to correct astigmatism. The Acrysof Toric is a new implant that can correct significant amounts of corneal astigmatism thereby optimizing a patient’s distance vision after cataract surgery. Hudson Valley Eye Associates offers this new and exciting technology. As with all cataract patients, the appropriate choice of intraocular lens is made after examination and consultation with the surgeon.
